Having accurate information about what is happening on farm and planning for great environmental outcomes is important to all members of the Guardians of the Ruakituri. Our Ruakituri farmers have been working on developing their Farm Plan – starting with the Environment module, supported by Beef & Lamb NZ. The well-attended workshops have been held at the hall, with progress supported by the HBRC and a great team of knowledgeable experts lead by Juliet Chambers on behalf of Beef + Lamb NZ.

Establishing a clear detailed picture of data in each of these areas is the first step. There will always be more to do to maintain our pristine river! Understanding the tools and developing the plan for action is what will drive our committed farmers forward to ensure we meet our goals of protecting and enhancing the Ruakituri River for generations to come.
